How it all started...
Alan Ahlgrim had been trying to crack the code of transformative soul care for decades. He recognized that transformation is not a destination but a journey. And, that journey could not be taken alone!
After leading a large church in Colorado, Alan also observed that many pastors and staff leaders were struggling to see transformation in their own lives. He dedicated his "retirement years" to helping individuals move from "head land to heart land."

Expanding the vision...
In just about 10 years, the ministry had grown to 100 participants with 10 facilitators. At a retreat with several leaders, the dream was to expand 10X in 10 years. This would be accomplished by training additional facilitators, developing new ministry partners, translating Soul Strength into several languages, and creating a coaching arm within the ministry.

Rick Grover- Executive Director
Rick has served as the Lead Pastor at East 91st Street Christian Church in Indianapolis for the past thirteen years. He’s been in our ministry with our founder, Alan Ahlgrim, from the beginning—an early adopter of the Covenant Connections vision and our most committed and productive group leader over the years.
E91’s Elders see Rick’s new role as Executive Director as a natural extension of their church’s vision to be Kingdom-minded. They have given their full support for Rick to continue serving full-time as E91’s Lead Pastor while also stepping into this new part-time leadership role with Covenant Connections.
